As all of us are aware, May is Huntington’s Awareness month. For the last two years, many monumental places around the world have been lit up in Purple and Blue for Huntington’s and Juvenile Huntington’s disease.
I am very pleased to announce that Niagara Falls will be lit up in Blue and Purple on May 20, 2018. For the last two years, the Falls were illuminated on May 18th, which is my daughter Erin Wade's birthday. May 18, 2018, was already taken, however, the Falls will be lit up on Erin's late father's birthday (David Wade) on May 20th.
This year the lighting of the Falls will honor Erin Wade who suffers from Juvenile Huntington’s disease, and her late father who suffered from Huntington’s disease on his birthday. It will also be a beacon of hope and faith for all of the Huntington's and Juvenile Huntington's patients and families.
The Illumination will take place at 10 pm for a total of fifteen minutes. I would like to thank the Niagara Falls Illumination Board for approving this special request.
